Elon Musk wants to take Action against Extreme Content

After Elon Musk’s seizure of power, the European Union is concerned about the rise of hate speech on Twitter. In a meeting with French President Macron, Musk has now made a conciliatory statement.
During his visit to the United States, French President Emmanuel Macron met the new head of Twitter and tech billionaire Elon Musk. Macron tweeted on Friday that he met Musk that afternoon and had a “clear and honest discussion”.
Musk pledged to take action against terrorist and violent extremist content and to better protect children online. Musk responded in a tweet in French: “Absolutely.”
Musk: Twitter is restricted to free speech

Since Musk took over Twitter, there have been widespread concerns that more hate speech and abuse could end up on the platform under his leadership and following the layoffs in key roles he has implemented. Musk himself has raised these concerns, with repeated criticism. Twitter has restricted freedom of expression on the platform too much.
I am looking forward to exciting plans in France.
The European Union threatens to shut down Twitter
There are currently tensions between Musk and the European Union. EU Industry Commissioner Thierry Breton told Funk Media Group newspapers that if Twitter fails to comply with European rules, fines could be imposed.
And if the rules continue to be broken, we can close the platform in Europe.
Britton also announced another meeting with Musk before Christmas. The EU Commissioner for Industry also referred to EU laws on digital markets and digital services that are due to come into force next year. These provide “effective tools to reduce the spread of lies and hate”. Twitter must meet these criteria if it wants to continue operating in the European market.
Twitter wants to take automated action against hate speech
Meanwhile, Twitter claims to be working on an automated solution to filter hateful comments. Ella Irwin, Twitter’s new head of trust and security, said in an interview with Reuters on Thursday that Twitter wants to push automation rather than relying on time-intensive human analysis of malicious content.
The main thing that has changed is that the team is now empowered to act as quickly and aggressively as possible.
In another tweet, Macron wrote that she also discussed future green industrial projects with Musk at the joint meeting, such as the production of electric cars and batteries. In addition, the president presented a photo of himself and Musk at a conference table.
